Private beta. While the execution layer is being finished, running errands is limited to
accounts on the company domain; anyone else gets a structured refusal instead of a run. Nothing on
this page is a promise that this errand runs for your account today.
What this errand is for
Make one ten-minute call that can cut your credit card’s APR by several points — no new account and no fee, for an account in good standing at a regular purchase rate.
What Hence does in the pilot
- Find your current APR and roughly how long you’ve had the card.
- Make the ask, using your history as leverage.
- Write down what they agreed to — rate, effective date, and the rep’s name.
Part of the errand, but not something Hence does for you here:
- Call the number on the back of your card.
- If you’re struggling to pay, ask about a hardship program instead.
What you approve, and what you get
These steps wait for your explicit yes before they happen:
- Make the ask, using your history as leverage.
What comes back:
- The current purchase APR and the account-opened date, with the page they came from.
- The message as sent, and the issuer’s answer.
- The agreed rate, its effective date, and who agreed to it.
Screenshots and documents are referenced by the task rather than pasted into your assistant’s transcript.
Intents
The ways of asking that reach this errand:
- ask for a lower interest rate on my credit card
- lower my card APR
- negotiate my credit card rate down
Admission
Before it starts, it asks:
This call is usually a low-risk win — but a few situations change the math and can waste the call or cost you if you march straight through. Any of these you?
Say yes to any of these and it refuses:
- My account is charged off, in collections, or I’m several payments behind.
- This is a store, retail, or medical financing card with a deferred-interest promo.
Say yes to any of these and it continues, with the caveat stated:
- My high rate is a penalty APR from a late payment.
- The interest I pay is on a cash-advance or balance-transfer balance, not regular purchases.
- I’m genuinely struggling to keep up with payments.
Hard stops it will not work around:
- An account that is charged off, in collections, or several payments behind — a rate call there risks an admission.
- A store, retail or medical financing card on a deferred-interest promo, where the deadline is the real risk.
- Enrolling in a hardship program, which can freeze or close the card.
What it asks you for:
- Rate you’re asking for — a rate, required.
What it reads off the account pages instead of asking:
- Effective from — a date, optional, one per row.
- The rate they agreed — a rate, optional, one per row.
- Reference number — text, optional, one per row.
- What they said — text, optional, one per row.
- Date and time — a date, optional, one per row.
- Who you spoke to — text, optional, one per row.
What it reads from a statement or document you already have:
- When you opened the card — a date, optional.
- Balance you carry — an amount, required.
- Current APR — a rate, required.
- Current balance — an amount, optional.
- Your current purchase APR — a rate, optional.
